BACK TO AFRICA!
I'm proud to announce that on April 13 I'll be returning to South Africa for who-knows-how-long. I'll be spending the first couple months volunteering for Wildlife ACT on a wild dog reintroduction project. The African Wild Dog is one of the most endangered carnivores on the continent. It is truly an honor to take part in the preservation of this amazing creature. If you are interested in an amazing volunteer experience in Africa, then visit the Wildlife ACT website at wildlifeact.com.
After that I will continue traveling across the continent on an amazing coast-to-coast adventure, from Namibia to Tanzania with a total stranger named Cristina Garcia, a zoologist from Spain. The entire journey will be documented in our website Putting Up Walls.com. Each of us will be writing our side of the story without ever looking at what the other has written. Please, do not tell me anything she has written! No matter how terrible and embarrassing it may be! Enjoy!

"DODO FILMS" IS BORN
Ever wanted to save the world but you weren't sure how? That's why dodo films was created. To teach people in a not-so-serious way about saving life on earth. I started making animated and live action films when I was 10 years old. Then I started breakdancing and skateboarding and bmxing and going to college and wildlife photography. But now I'm back and I've started a non-profit organization called Dodo Films to create environmental education programming and ad campaigns. To learn more about Dodo Films visit my site dodofilms.com. If you'd like to support this worthwhile cause, please visit the donation page. Thanks for helping preserve life on earth!

CreatureGallery.com preserved forever
My old gallery site (creaturegallery.com) was retired in May of 2007 because I sold the gallery and went traveling. However, I have saved it here, in its entirety, for nostalgia purposes, within the halbrindley.com web site.
Now you can view photos from many of the memorable gallery openings and parties, as well as the remodeling of the building itself.
Thanks to everyone for the good times and great memories from the Creature Gallery era in Charlottesville, Virginia!

Go West Young Man
After nearly a year of travels I have finally arrived in the San Francisco Bay Area. I'm currently looking for a place to live in Marin where my gal Catey is doing habitat restoration work for the National Park. We will spend the next several months here and hopefully I'll get a chance to catch up on some web updates. Will I be in an overpriced apartment or living aboard a sailboat? Stay tuned and find out! (update: I got an overpriced month-to-month studio apartment in Mill Valley!)

The HGTV episode finally available
My good friend Mike made a recording of the HGTV episode of "Look What I Did" featuring me and the famous light-table bar at my old gallery in Charlottesville, Virginia. I've posted it on YouTube (see videos page) for your enjoyment. It has some sound glitches but you'll get the point. It's episode #307. They also featured me on the HGTV web site.

GALLERY CLOSING!
It's official. I'm selling my building and closing the gallery! I may open it again in another location but for now I will just be maintaining the virtual gallery online. The bad news is I won't get to open the cafe/bar. The good news is, I will spend the next year traveling! Upcoming journeys may include Brazil, Honduras, sailing in the Caribbean, and Antarctica! Stay tuned for pics!
